Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

Happiness Project: February 2022

February has been a beautiful month. I know it’s not a favorite for many, but it is one of my mine. Early evenings in, freshly laid snow, and lots of naps.

Snow has always made me RIDICULOUSLY happy. It’s so beautiful and when it snows here in the woods it’s completely silent. It sounds like the whole world is taking a nap. It’s pure magic.

I started getting back into some of my old hobbies, including knitting! I found some super soft yarn to make for 2 baby blankets I’m working on for my sisters and I’m also making myself a little throw. It feels fun to get back into knitting. I forgot how much it helped calm my nerves.

The woods have been filled with deer this year. It feels like I’ve seen more deer this winter than any of the other 4 winters I’ve been here. I absolutely love it when my forest friends come for a visit : )

As always, beautiful views. I feel lucky to live here.

Cold temperatures means more cuddles with the dogs!

What brought you joy in February?
