Happiness Project: July

Aug 1, 2022

July was a really good month for me. For the first time in YEARS, I actually felt my mental health improving. I think everything I’m doing is finally starting to add up and create some relief and well-being in my life. Here’s what brought me joy this month.

I spent the fourth of July weekend up in Steamboat visiting family and it was exactly what my soul needed. Being around my niece and nephews is always good for the soul. We went to a parade downtown, made delicious sloppy joes, had lots of cuddles, and enjoyed the pond!

While I was there, I got to check out my family’s new greenhouse! And let me tell you, they are KILLING it with all they’re growing! It was impressive. And it’s a great way for the kids to learn how to care for something and get their hands dirty.

This month I finally got a new couch for the deck! I sold the one I had earlier in the summer, and the space was sitting empty for a month or two. But thankfully, this new daybed finally arrived, and I’m SO happy with it. It’s extra deep, so super cuddly and comfortable. I’ve really been enjoying reading on it in the evenings.

Speaking of reading, I’ve been doing a TON of it lately. It’s amazing how much reading impacts my mental health for the better. If you want to check what I’ve been reading, then head over to my bookstagram!

There were some pretty stunning sunsets this month, and I loved this one where the clouds washed over the valley.

I also saw my first sunset here in the canyon! I’m sure there have been ones before, but this is the first one I’ve been able to see. It was pretty magical.

My mom and sister came down one weekend in July to help me do a big purge and organization clean of my house. We got SO much done, and it feels amazing to finally have a house that is clean and organized at the same time. I’m so grateful for these two! And it felt so great having visitors for the weekend and showing them my neck of the woods : )

And last but not least, I had two ketamine sessions this month for my anxiety and depression. I always feel so much better afterward and can totally tell how much of a difference this treatment has made for my mental health. I’m actually working on writing a post about my ketamine treatment so if you have any questions about it, drop it in the comments below!

I would love to know, what brought you joy this month?
