On Scheduling Joy

Aug 23, 2021

One of my goals for this year was to have more fun and to experience more joy.

Life can easily become work – chores – work – chores – repeat. There’s always something that needs to get done, it’s never-ending. And while I love the work I do, both in my business and caring for my cabin in the woods, I realized that I wasn’t actually getting much pleasure out of life. And that just doesn’t lead to a great place to be.

Prioritizing fun and joy have looked like…

Cutting my Sunday chores short so I can go to a butterfly habitat with my nephews.

Weekly Sunday dinners with my sister.

Creating and designing for fun, not for my job.

And standing outside, socks soaked from the rain on the deck and soaking in the rainbow. Like legit smiling and inhaling the smell of the fresh rain and colors of the rainbow.

Meet Chaucee

Hi! I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning. Welcome!
