When one place gets a lot of a hype its almost to their disadvantage. Back in November I was in Georgetown for the day so I thought what the heck, I’ll go stand in that long line for two cupcakes. So I did. But when I walked over to Starbucks, ordered a coffee (or two, it was BOGO after all!) and finally delved into a red velvet and a caramel cupcake, I was left wanting. And not wanting more. They were okay. Not the best. I guess I was expecting a sort of first kiss meets chocolate supreme dessert in my mouth. But we all know that first kisses are disappointing after all and that’s exactly how I felt about my G-town Cupcake. But hey, you can’t please everyone and they should keep doing what they’re doing. Apparently it’s working!
