Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

What do you do for YOU?

Life is filled with obligations and responsibilities.

Buy the groceries, clean the house, go to work, exercise, eat well. The list goes on and on.

However, it occurred to me the other day that there aren’t many things I do purely for the sake of enjoyment.

And I want to fix that.

In my early 20’s I was much better at pursuing creative endeavors and things that caught my interest. I had things to do that brought me joy outside of work and doing chores.

So to get back in touch with my younger self and to bring some joy to my life, I’ve decided to get back into my hobbies.

One, being this blog.

I used to love writing and sharing content over here. I loved developing a post idea, taking the photos, and writing down my thoughts. This was never meant to be an intellectual endeavor but one from the heart – rough around the edges, a bit unkempt, but fuelled with care and warmth.

So I’m going to keep showing up imperfectly.

In addition to blogging, I also want to get back to posting my recent reads over on my bookstagram. I love having that catalog of what I’m reading and connecting with other readers over books we’ve read.

What is something you can do for yourself simply for the pure enjoyment of it?
