Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

Happiness Practice: July

The simplest things can bring the most happiness.

For the past two months, I’ve been putting into practice a happiness project of sorts. At the end of each month, I reflect on the things I’m thankful for, from large to small, in order to refocus attention away from stressors and anxious things and instead celebrate the moments of happiness. This is, in a sense, my way to stop and smell the roses.

When I was walking to get coffee one morning I came across this beautiful tree in bloom. It’s rare to find trees in bloom so late in the summer (most have turned to green by now) and seeing this cheered me up instantly.

I went to my first (stateside) wine tasting in July (thanks, Groupon!). It’s always good to spend time with my closest friends, even better if it involves wining and dining!

I’ve been trying to give more tender care to my emotional and mental health this month and that includes cooking meals at home that I actually want to eat. Also, tater tots make everything better.

Summer block parties. Yes, that is a pool of sorts made with orange street dividers and a tarp. Oh Philly, I love you.

I’d love to know, what brought you happiness this past month?
