When I first moved to the mountains over 5 years ago, there was nothing happening in Rollinsville, Colorado. I think there was one restaurant and one distillery and that was it (besides a small handful of homes). Now, there are several spots to check out and I’m so happy to see it’s getting more local love!
Jax and I met up with some friends at Howlin Winds Brewing which is aptly named because the mountain winds are intense during the winter up here.
A few google reviews mentioned that they serve kombucha which I was super excited to try, but they didn’t have any that day and I think they mentioned they’re not making it anymore. If that’s the case, I hope they’ll be adding some other non-alcoholic options to their menu!
The space is small, but not too small, and it’s bright and cheery. There’s both outdoor and indoor seating and they’re dog friendly!
We camped out on the yellow couch with a cheese danish while waiting for my friends to arrive. It was delish!
This handsome dude was so friendly and well-behaved. I just couldn’t get over how handsome he is!
They share a space with a local coffee microroaster MELT which I forgot to get photos of, but I’ll be back there soon to work remotely in the morning.
Thanks for the good time, Howlin Winds! We’ll be back : )
If you like kombucha, have you tried Trubucha in Lone Tree? It’s kombucha on tap and you can even mix flavors. One of my favorite spots when I was in Colorado.
I haven’t! I’ll have to check it out.
