Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

Book Club: Love Warrior

Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton

Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton turned out to be a little different than I expected. This memoir is about a time in Glennon’s life when she found out her husband had been sleeping with multiple women ever since the year they got married. I thought I knew how this one ended. How could anyone find healing after such devastating betrayal?

Throughout the book, Glennon talks about her own faith and spirituality. She doesn’t make excuses for the bigotry and judgmental nature of the church but instead reclaims her own faith and spirituality so it resembles what she holds valuable and knows to be true – acceptance, love, activism, tolerance. This made me reflect on my own relationship with religion as a whole and how I struggle with the dichotomy of what I believe in the world and how horrendous organized religion can to be.

This book has been all over the news lately and for good reason. Give it a read and let me know what you think.
