Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

6 Things I’m Looking Forward To This Fall

Here in the Colorado mountains, our first snowfall usually comes in September, which is only a couple of weeks away! There is so much to look forward to in the fall. The cooler weather, the cozy fires, the walks in the woods, I’m here for it all! What are you most looking forward to? Here’s what’s on my list.

Wood Stove Fires

Lighting the first wood stove fire of the season is always an exciting moment. The smell of the pine wood and the sound of it crackling in the wood stove is instantly comforting. I’m just hoping we have enough wood stacked this year!

Shorter Days

I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually enjoy the shorter days that come with autumn. They feel more manageable to get through than the never-ending long days of summer. There’s nothing I love more than cuddling up on the couch with a good book under lamp light.

Layers

The cooler weather means more layers! I love being bundled up. It feels like a big hug all day long. I can’t wait to break out my go-to sweaters and fleeces!

Aspen Leaves

My house is surrounded by pine trees and aspen and once autumn hits, it becomes pure magic.

Walks in the Woods

Is there anything more magical than going through a wall in the woods in autumn?

Sunrises

During the summer, the sun rises so early that I usually miss it. But in the fall and winter months, I’m up while it’s still dark, which means I get to see the sunrise each morning! It honestly is the best part of my day.

What are you looking forward to this fall?
