Hi, I’m Chaucee, the hands behind the words on this screen. I started this blog as a college freshman in 2008 as a creative outlet while studying for my bachelor’s. Since then it’s grown into a way to document things I love and things I’m learning.

3 Great Summer Reads

Ahhhh sweet summertime. My favorite activities during the summer mostly revolve around cocktails and reading. With some trips coming up, I’ll be looking for some more great books to take along, but here are some recent reads that are perfect for a summer afternoon.

Tracks: A Woman’s Solo Trek Across 1700 Miles of Australian Outback
Robyn Davidson
Looking for: an adventure
Why I love it: I really enjoy stories of conventional women doing unconventional things. Robyn moved to the wild terrain of the Australian desert setting out to cross the rugged terrain with four camels and one dog.

Fat Girl Walking
Brittany Gibbons
Looking for: Inspiration
Why I love it: You may know Brittany via her blog BrittanyHerself.com, and if you do then you know this book is humorously honest and incredibly inspiring. I poured through this book in two days and couldn’t put it down.

Big Girl
Kelsey Miller
Looking for: new way of thinking about food
Why I love it: Kelsey Miller is a senior features writer at Refinery29 where she started The Anti Diet Project. In her book she talks in depth about her relationship with food and how she gave up dieting for good.
