After selling my first home in North Philadelphia, I definitely wasn’t envisioning buying a log cabin. I always pictured myself in the mountains of Colorado, and while I love the charm of log cabins, I pictured them as more of a hunter’s retreat…heavy with dark wood

I haven’t done much exploring of the foothills near Golden, so this weekend we decided to go on a hike to the Blue Lakes via the Mitchell Lake trail up near Ward, Colorado. It was easily one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve done in

Through wars and times of peace, they have offered millions of people refuge, comfort, and beauty. I’m happy to be a part of that group. I wonder who else stood in this very spot hundreds of years ago. What did it look like then? What did they feel when looking upon this same mountain? I hope it brought a smile to their face. It sure does to mine.

Facing challenges grows character and integrity. Working through challenges does not highlight weakness, but shows our potential for strength. Instead of feeling less than and allowing negative self-talk… this challenge is the opportunity you've been waiting for. To do something different. To BE different. Change the way you react, change the way you manage your emotions, change the way you rise above.
